The Memphis Hustle earned a 103-98 win over the Oklahoma City Blue Sunday afternoon at Cox Convention Center. The Hustle trailed 77-76 entering the fourth quarter, but opened the period on a 13-0 run and would eventually extend the lead to 14 with 4:58 remaining. The Blue cut the deficit to as few as three in the finals seconds but couldn’t complete the comeback.
Seventy-five of Memphis’ points came from Trahson Burrell, Kobi Simmons and Marquis Teague who each poured in 25 points. Burrell additionally fell just one rebound shy of his 10th double-double of the season while shooting 8-of-12 from the field (4-7 3P) and also recording four steals. Simmons knocked down 4-of-6 three-point attempts. Teague shot 10-of-20 from the field and led the team with six assists. Chance Comanche (11 points) also scored in double figures.
Blue guard Javan Felix came off the bench to lead the team in scoring with a career-high 24 points on 10-of-13 shooting (4-5 3P). Thunder assignee Dakari Johnson added in 16 points and eight rebounds. P.J. Dozier and Justin Leon scored 12 points apiece. Rashawn Thomas (11 points, 14 rebounds) posted a double-double.
The Hustle will end a 23-day home game hiatus on January 27 at 7 p.m. against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants at Landers Center. Tickets are still available and start for as low as $10.
