The Memphis Hustle lost for the fifth time in six games Tuesday with a 119-109 result against the Texas Legends at Dr. Pepper Arena. Texas outscored the Hustle on turnovers 22-10 and shot 52.2 percent from the field.
Durand Scott led the team with 19 points on an efficient 8-of-9 shooting from the field. Marquis Teague dropped in 16 points while two-way player Myke Henry added 15. Two-way guard Kobi Simmons poured in 14 points to go with six assists. Trahson Burrell led the Hustle in rebounds (13) for the second straight game to go with seven points and six assists.
Portland two-way player and former Memphis Grizzlies guard Wade Baldwin IV led the Legends with 30 points (9-13 FG) on just 13 shot attempts to go with six assists and five rebounds. Mavericks two-way player Johnathan Motley would not be outdone, scoring 27 points and grabbing 17 rebounds, tying a season-high for any Hustle opponent. Jameel Warney added 21 points and eight rebounds.
The Hustle will conclude a streak of five games away from home with a Sunday afternoon matchup against the Oklahoma City Blue at 2 p.m. CT at Cox Convention Center. Memphis’ next home game will come on January 27 at 7 p.m. against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. Tickets are still available and start for as low as $10.
