The Memphis Hustle lost to the Salt Lake City Stars, 100-96, Friday in the team’s only appearance at FedExForum this season. The game featured 14 lead changes and 12 ties. The score was tied at 84-84 after an Ivan Rabb fadeaway with 6:35 remaining in the game, but Salt Lake City went on a 7-0 run over the next 3:18 and would not relinquish the lead.
Memphis started hot from three-point range, hitting eight of the first 14 attempts, but would only shoot 2-of-10 from beyond the arc to close the game.
Marquis Teague led the Hustle by tying a season-high 19 points to go with seven rebounds and five assists. Rabb saw limited action after missing the previous two games, but still managed 15 points and seven rebounds in just 21 minutes of play. Omari Johnson posted 11 of his 14 points in the first half, shooting 4-of-4 from the field (3-3 3P).
Naz Mitrou-Long led the charge for the Stars, scoring a career-high 32 points on 11-of-19 shooting (5-9 3P). Two-way player Nate Wolters (16 points, 13 rebounds) recorded his third double-double of the season and set a new career-high for rebounds in a game. On the hand, two-way player Eric Griffin poured in 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
