Memphis Hustle guard Brandon Goodwin has been called up by the Denver Nuggets, marking the third GATORADE call-up in franchise history and the team’s first of the season.
In nine games (all starts) with the Hustle this season, Goodwin averaged 23.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.67 steals in 33.7 minutes per game while shooting 53.2 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from three-point range and 78.9 percent from the free throw line.
In Tuesday’s win over Northern Arizona, Goodwin set a new franchise single-game scoring record with 36 points on 15-of-24 shooting. Goodwin has reached double figures in all nine appearances and hit the 20-point plateau six times. The Florida Gulf Coast product participated in the 2018 Memphis Grizzlies Training Camp and was on the team’s 2018 NBA Summer League roster.
The Hustle will return home on Saturday, Dec. 1 when the team takes on the South Bay Lakers at 7 p.m. at Landers Center for First Responders Night presented by EMHC. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a free Hustle scarf.
