Memphis Hustle acquire Phil Cofer

Memphis, Tenn. – The Memphis Hustle, the Grizzlies’ NBA G League affiliate, today acquired Phil Cofer from the available player pool.

 

Cofer (6-8, 220) has appeared in 23 games (two starts) for the NBA G League’s College Park Skyhawks this season and one game for the Long Island Nets. A native of Fayetteville, Ga., Cofer spent five seasons (2014-19) at Florida State, appearing in 133 games (84 starts) and compiling averages of 7.4 points and 3.7 rebounds while shooting 45.9 percent from the field and 36.6 percent from three-point range.

 

As a senior (2017-18), he started in all 35 of his appearances and posted a team-high 12.8 points and 5.0 rebounds in 29.3 minutes of action while shooting 48.6 percent overall and 37.5 percent from long range, leading the Seminoles to the Elite Eight where he was named to the NCAA West Regional All-Tournament Team. He helped the Seminoles to a school-best 29 wins as a redshirt senior in 2018-19, posting averages of 7.4 points and 3.5 rebounds while knocking down 48.6 percent of his field goal attempts and 37.5 percent from distance.
