Hustle assignees shine in 133-113 win over OKC Blue

Oklahoma City, OK – The Memphis Hustle (13-5), the NBA G League affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies, defeated the Oklahoma City Blue (7-13) 133-113 on Monday morning as the Hustle tipped off a two-game series against the Blue at the Paycom Center.

On assignment from the Grizzlies, David Roddy scored a career high 29 points, making six of 11 attempts from beyond the arc to lead the Hustle. Jake LaRavia scored 25 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Ziaire Williams netted a G League career high 20 points to go along with 10 rebounds and seven assists, securing his first double-double of the season. Kenneth Lofton Jr. finished with 18 points, nine rebounds, five assists and three steals. Dakota Mathias tallied 17 points off the bench for the Hustle.

Tre Mann scored 16 of his team-high 24 points in the fourth quarter as the Blue attempted to mount a comeback. Jahmi’us Ramsey scored 20 points off the Blue bench. Ousmane Dieng posted 18 points and five rebounds for the Blue, with Adam Mokoka and Sacha Killeye-Jones scoring 13 points apiece for Oklahoma City.

Oklahoma City started the game on an 8-0 run to give them an early lead. The Hustle used a 30-20 run to end the first quarter leading 30-28. The Hustle were able to create some separation from the Blue thanks to a 10-2 run in the second quarter to give them a 58-50 lead at the halftime break. The Hustle used a 33-19 run to start the third quarter to build their lead up to as many as 22 points. The Blue were able to claw back and make it a seven-point game early in the fourth quarter before a 31-18 Hustle run secured the victory for Memphis.

The Hustle shot 50.5% from the field, including a regular season high 42.9% from beyond the arc. The Hustle also tied a regular season high with 36 assists on 49 made field goals. The Hustle were able to score 24 points off 18 Blue turnovers. The Hustle limited the Blue to 27.8% shooting from beyond the arc. The Hustle shot 100% from the free throw line, making all eight attempts.

The Hustle will wrap up the two-game road trip against the Blue on Wednesday, Feb. 15 noon CT at the Paycom Center. The matchup will wrap up the season series against OKC and will be the final game before the NBA and G League All-Star break.
