Hustle end four-game toad trip with loss to Stars

Southaven, Miss. – The Memphis Hustle (9-4), the NBA G League affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies, fell to the Salt Lake City Stars (8-8) 135-105 on Tuesday at Maverik Center to complete a two-game back-to-back with the Stars and end a four-game road trip.
Frank Jackson led Salt Lake City with 30 points and shot 7-of-12 from 3-point range to help the Stars make 22 of their 49 attempts (.449) from beyond the arc. Stacy Davis posted a triple-double with 24 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists, and Jeenathan Williams added 21 points for the Stars, who had seven players score in double figures.
Matthew Hurt followed up his career-high 29-point performance Monday with 28 points on 10-of-18 shooting to pace the Hustle. Damien Jefferson netted 22 points off the bench, and Romeo Weems chipped in with 14 points.
Salt Lake City, which led wire-to-wire, scored the first seven points of the game and led 36-25 at the end of the first quarter. The Stars scored 10 straight as part of a 12-2 run to build a 72-45 lead in the closing seconds of the second period and led by as many as 34 points in the fourth quarter.
The Stars outrebounded the Hustle 56-32, including a 17-4 advantage on the offensive glass, and outscored the Hustle 25-2 in second chance points. Salt Lake City also limited Memphis to 9-of-30 from 3-point range (.300).
Memphis returns to Landers Center to start a four-game home stand with a back-to-back against the Delaware Blue Coats on Friday, Feb. 3, and Saturday, Feb. 4. Both games will tip-off at 7 p.m. CT.
