Hustle hold off Warriors 140-131, remain undefeated at home

The Memphis Hustle (7-1), the NBA G League affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies, defeated the Santa Cruz Warriors (3-5) 140-131 on Tuesday at Landers Center, remaining undefeated at home (4-0) in the regular season.
Kenneth Lofton Jr. led the Hustle with 23 points and five rebounds off the bench. Dakota Mathias followed with 22 points, Vince Williams Jr. totaled 21 points and seven rebounds, and Jake LaRavia added 20 points. Kennedy Chandler posted 17 rebounds and six assists, Xavier Tillman Sr. finished with 14 points, five rebounds and six assists and Sean McDermott scored 12 points off the bench.
Ryan Rollins led the Warriors with 23 points and five assists off the bench. Gui Santos finished with 22 points and nine rebounds, while Jerome Robinson and Lester Quinones both scored 20 points each, Quinones posting a double-double with 11 rebounds. Jayce Johnson also posted a double-double behind 14 points and 12 rebounds, and Zeke Moore contributed 12 points and six assists.
After being tied 32-32 at the end of the first quarter, Memphis led Santa Cruz 72-65 at half. The Hustle posted 40 points in the third quarter to pull ahead and led the Warriors 109-103 going into the final frame. Memphis reached its largest lead of the night of 14 points after a LaRavia fadeaway 3-pointer with 1:16 remaining in the game.
The Hustle will rematch the Warriors at 7 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Jan. 18, at Landers Center in the second game of the back-to-back series.
