HUSTLE LOSE 135-128 TO LEGENDS TO START TWO-GAME SET

Memphis, Tenn. – The Memphis Hustle (8-9), the NBA G League affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies, were defeated 135-128 by the Texas Legends (9-8) in the first of a two-game set at Landers Center.

DeJon Jarreau led the Hustle with his second career-triple double, totaling 22 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists. Adonis Arms finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Matthew Hurt tallied 20 points and seven rebounds. Michael Devoe scored 17 points. Davon Reed contributed 15 points.

Greg Brown III paced the Legends with 32 points, eight rebounds and five blocks. Jordan Walker scored 27 points on six 3-pointers. Justin Jackson tallied 21 points. Theo Pinson contributed 11 points, seven rebounds and 20 assists.

Memphis scored 44 points in the first quarter and led by as many as 16 points before Texas answered with a 42-point second quarter and took a 76-72 halftime lead. The Legends pulled ahead by 19 in the second half, but the Hustle trimmed the lead to three with 2:22 remaining. Texas then scored the next four to create enough separation.

The Legends shot 52.7 percent from the field and 43.9 percent from beyond the arc, making 18 3-pointers. The Hustle outscored Texas 64-58 in the paint. The Legends scored 20 points off turnovers.

The Hustle will conclude their seven-game home stand with a rematch against the Legends on Sunday, Feb. 11, at 7 p.m. CT at Landers Center.
