Hustle Split Series in Birmingham Against Squadron

Memphis, Tenn. – The Memphis Hustle (4-7), the NBA G League affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies, defeated the Birmingham Squadron (3-6) 124-99 to split the two-game set at Legacy Arena at the BJCC. 

Charlie Brown Jr. led the Hustle with 26 points. Tyler Burton scored 21 points. GG Jackson II registered 18 points. DeJon Jarreau totaled 13 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. Evan Gilyard added 10 points off the bench. Abou Ousmane contributed nine points and 10 rebounds. 

Johnny O’Neil paced the Squadron with 20 points off the bench. Keion Brooks Jr. and Chase Hunter scored 19 points each. Hunter Dickinson scored 15 points. 

The Hustle opened the game on a 20-6 run to take an early double-digit lead and led by as many as 41 in the second half. 

Memphis shot 51.5 percent from the field and 42.5 percent from beyond the arc, making 17 3-pointers. The Hustle dished out a season-high 30 assists. Memphis outscored Birmingham 54-26 in the paint and scored 27 points off Squadron turnovers. 

The Hustle will return home for their final home game of the Tip-Off Tournament as they host the Osceola Magic on Thursday, Dec. 11, at 7 p.m. CT at Landers Center.
