Hustle win final home game on Hurt's game winner

Matthew Hurt's game-winning 3-pointer allowed the Memphis Hustle (14-18), the NBA G League affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies, to close out their regular season home schedule with a 118-117 victory over the Stockton Kings (22-10).

Michael Devoe paced the Hustle, scoring 25 points and grabbing seven rebounds. Hurt finished with 21 points and seven rebounds. Davon Reed tallied 18 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.Adonis Arms contributed 18 points and nine assists. Loudon Love scored 13 points and Lucas Williamson totaled 12 points off the bench. 

Jaylen Nowell led Stockton with 39 points. Stanley Johnson scored 20 of his 35 points in the third quarter and grabbed nine rebounds. Deonte Burton tallied 18 points. 

Memphis led by as many as 13 in the first half, but the Kings outscored the Hustle 35-21 in the third quarter to reclaim the lead.

Burton’s 3-pointer with 8.1 seconds remaining gave the Kings a 117-115 edge but Hurt responded with a step-back 3-pointer with 2.6 seconds remaining to put the Hustle back ahead. Johnson’s mid-range jumper at the final buzzer came up short.

Memphis outscored the Kings 56-44 in the paint and scored 20 points off turnovers. The Hustle shot 57 percent from the field and 40.6 percent from beyond the arc. Stockton shot 44.4 percent from deep, making 16 3-pointers.

The Hustle conclude the regular season with a back-to-back set against the Westchester Knicks in New York starting Friday, March 29, at 6 p.m. CT.
