Memphis Hustle defeat Wisconsin Herd 126-108

Oshkosh, Wisc. – The Memphis Hustle (19-6), the NBA G League affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies, defeated the Wisconsin Herd (9-18) 126-108 Monday to tip-off a two-game Eastern Conference road trip.

Matthew Hurt led the Hustle with 28 points, six rebounds and three blocks. Jacob Gilyard tied his career-high, scoring 20 points to go with 10 assists and three steals. Dakota Mathias contributed 20 points, six rebounds and seven assists. Adonis Arms and Sean McDermott tallied 14 points each. Terrell Brown Jr. dished out a career-high 10 assists off the bench.

The Herd got 21 points from Elijah Hughes. Paris Bass scored 19 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Jontay Porter contributed 19 points, eight rebounds and six assists off the bench. Iverson Molinar tallied 16 points.

The Hustle went on an 18-2 run in the first quarter to take an early lead. The Hustle scored 40 points in the second quarter and led by 21 at the halftime break. The Hustle shot 14-of-25 from beyond the arc in the first half. The Hustle led by as many as 33 points in the second half on their way to victory.

The Hustle dished out a season-high 40 assists on 47 made field goals and outrebounded the Herd 51-44. Memphis shot 50.5% from the field, including 44.2% from beyond the arc.

The Hustle will wrap up their two-game road trip with a visit to Hoffman Estates, Illinois to face off against the Windy City Bulls on Wednesday, March 15, at 7 p.m. CT.
