Memphis Hustle fall to Delaware Blue Coats 129-120

The Memphis Hustle (10-5), the NBA G League affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies, fell to the Delaware Blue Coats (9-5) 129-120 on Saturday in the second matchup of a home back-to-back series at Landers Center.
Mac McClung led the Blue Coats with 22 points, and Jaden Springer and Louis King scored 21 points each, with King posting his second double-double of the season with 10 assists. Julian Champagnie, Braxton Key and Patrick McCaw added 15 points apiece and combined for 13 rebounds and 11 assists. Charlie Brown Jr. totaled 10 points and eight rebounds off the bench.
Kenneth Lofton Jr. posted his seventh double-double of the season behind 31 points and 12 rebounds. Matthew Hurt added 20 points and six rebounds off the bench, Jake LaRavia contributed 18 points and nine rebounds and Dakota Mathias finished with 17 points and seven rebounds.
The Blue Coats led 35-32 at the end of the first quarter and continued their lead into halftime, 72-68. After five lead changes in the third quarter, Memphis led 102-99 heading into the final frame. Delaware mounted a 21-5 run to solidify their win in the final five minutes of regulation.
The Hustle allowed 30 points off of 24 turnovers, while the Blue Coats only committed 12 turnovers, allowing 12 points. Delaware shot 56.3% from field-goal range and 45.5% from 3-point range, while Memphis shot 48.2% from the field and 39.5% from deep.
The Hustle will play the Birmingham Squadron at 7 p.m. CT on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at Landers Center in their first regular season meeting.
